Buttons or Pearls (DT) As You Like It Challenge

Is it Thursday?  Honestly, this working from home lark has totally screwed all sense of place and time, and it's only my first week of it!

Anyhoo, after a quick consult of the calendar, I can confirm that it is indeed Thursday and that means it is AS YOU LIKE IT CHALLENGE day, and we have a popular theme for you this time, which is Buttons Or Pearls (and please tell us why).

I do like buttons and pearls, but I tend to use buttons for boys and pearls for girls, and as I make more girls cards than boys, I guess that makes pearls my favourite!

Disclaimer:  It is a complete coincidence that Red Leader Annette and I used the same image for this challenge.

So, the ingredients for this card are:
Bit of a mixture of Sunny Studio 6x6 papers from different collections
Martha Stewart arches border punch
Martha Stewart grass border punch
and a sprinkling of shimmery pearls from various sources
Little lassy has been coloured using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens as watercolours

There is no sponsor for this challenge BUT the prize is still pretty special - the winner of this challenge gets to Guest Design with the team for April.  Squeeeeeeeeeeeeee, that is exciting!

Right then, I'm off, you need to go and get your buttons and pearls sorted.

Hugs to all

In The Pink (DT) Pearls

Happy Pink Thursday everyone!  It's time for a new challenge from IN THE PINK and this time our theme is Pearls.

We have another super sponsor too, but more of that further down.  Firstly, here is my DT card.

So, what have I used then:
Stamped image is a clear set from Tiddly Inks featuring Ellie Says Be Happy
She's painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) and Polychromos Pencils but I have
paper pieced her dress.
Papers are all from the Wild Rose Papermania Capsule Collection
That fabulous sentiment is by My Favourite Things
Pearls are from my stash
Ta-dah!

As if pink and pearls weren't enough to tempt you, there is a prize for the winner from

You know the rules by now, you have two weeks to enter, please use predominantly pink
and follow the theme.  Easy peasy!

Hugs to all

Bunny And Butterfly

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!  Tis a tad chilly over here in the east this morning, a lovely bright and sunny day, with a fabulous crisp frost.  What a day to be off to the dentist and then venturing back to work this afternoon (first time since Christmas Eve).  I'm still not feeling brilliant, but got to make a start somewhere in returning to some kind of normality while I await the hospital appointment.

Anyhoo, as an antidote to all this chilliness, here is something sunny and Springy for you.

I couldn't resist the recent release from Wild Rose Studio, and this one in particular
stole my heart - this is Bunny And Butterfly
Painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)
Shaped card and mats made with Crealies XXL32 dies
Backing paper is Dovecraft Back To Basics
Pearls from stash

Wishing you all a super Tuesday.  While I've been out of action I have got way behind with visits but I will do my best to get back on track as soon as possible.  Thank you all for sticking with me.

Totally Tilda? Hmmmmm.....

Hi all, hope this finds you feeling fine.  We are now well into the week (isn't it a relief to get Monday over - it always feels longer than any other day) so I am happy that it is now heading towards the weekend, lol.

Anyhoo, a friend tipped me the wink about the Gifts/Balloons challenge over at Totally Tilda - and I was surprised to find that I didn't have to use a Tilda stamp to enter, which is a good thing as I don't have that many of them any more.

I made this little card at the weekend without realising I could enter it, but enter it I will, as I am allowed.  So there.

So, I have used one of the LOTV Happy Bears
Painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)
and the beautifully coordinated papers (yes, I chose them first for a change) are the new LOTV/Nitwits Romance and Roses
A LOTV sentiment from the Vintage Labels Occasions set
And my trusty small Woodware flower punch with some pearl centres
Ta-dah!

And as they as furry and friendly little critters I shall also enter at Bunny Zoe's Furry Friends challenge

Thanks for taking the time to come over for a visit.  I know you don't get the instant gratification of a Facebook "Like" with Blogger so I really do appreciate the effort you make in leaving me comments.  Each and every one is read and treasured.

Pressing The Embelly Button

Now, you know me and embellys - they don't naturally go together, so you can imagine how I must have been feeling when I had the sudden and desperate urge to use some flowers.  This is a direct side effect of inhaling too much of the steam from cooking cabbage apparently!

This Uptown Girl is Fiona Loves Flowers from Stamping Bella
Painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) with a few Polychromos for her hair
Dies are from MFT (oval) and Tonic (scalloped rectangle)
Sentiment is Personal Impressions
Wood effect paper from Joy Craft
Flower from Wild Orchid Crafts
Pearls from stash

See, I even sat and fiddled with curling the wires on the flower stems,
I feel all lightheaded now.

Have a super day
Hugs to all

Lili Of The Valley, Things With Wings

Once more into the breach dear friends, once more, or close up the wall with our English dead (William Shakespeare, King Henry V)  Funny how some challenges make you feel like this!  I had a right old tussle with this one from LILI OF THE VALLEY this week.....it didn't help that it took me AGES to decide which one of the delicious little fairies I wanted to use....then I changed my mind.....and changed it again....then I thought this sentiment was beautiful.....but which fairy to use with it.......!

In the end I settled on Dandelion Clock - she is such a little darlin', and I do think this sentiment works well with her.

Dandelion Clock is painted with distress inks.  The papers are V&A Linen papers and, oh my, they are delicious!  They are just so pretty that I nearly cried cutting into them (guess I'll just have to buy some more!).  I inked the edges of the flowered squares with Danube Blue Memento Ink to bring them forward a tiny bit, I also edged the sentiment shape as well.  Navy cardstock is Papermania, and I used two Martha Stewart punches for the double border....it looked a bit bare so I added the lavender pearl gems, and then a few more on the corners of the sentiment.  I actually made this yesterday but I wasn't happy with it.....something I couldn't quite put my finger on....but looking at it again this morning I could see it was because of the really hard contrast between the navy and the white so I softened down the edge of the circle with some pearlescent chalk.
So, there we go, that's my entry for the challenge.  Thanks for taking the time to pop over for a look-see.
Hugs, Sxx
