Spring Gardening

Hello peeps.  You all know by now that I am an absolute sucker for the Twila and Nancy character stamps from Roberto's Rascals at CC Designs so when there is a new release I am there like a shot.  Unfortunately, my last few orders have all been held to ransom by the Royal Mail until a Customs fee has been paid - this is starting to make the stamps very expensive ........sigh.  Anyhoo, having paid the most recent exorbitant charge, I FINALLY got my hands on the last ones I ordered.

This is Nancy Gardens
I've painted her with Distress Inks (ReInkers)
and got busy with the craft knife to fussy cut her
The smile word die is also a recent addition, by Impression Obsessions, which I've stacked and covered in clear Wink of Stella
Papers are LOTV/Raspberry Road Baskets & Bunnies (retired)
6x4 card base

Hope you have had a lovely weekend enjoying the Spring sunshine!

Hugs to all

AYLI (DT) Embossing

Hello chaps, time for another challenge with the super talented AS YOU LIKE IT team!

For this challenge we would like you to use EMBOSSING
either HEAT or DRY, and you must remember to tell us about your choice.

Here's my DT card

I used to heat emboss all the time when I first started card making but that was before there was the choice of so many inks to stamp with.  Since I've been using Memento I have hardly used the heat gun.  I've been experimenting recently with embossing cutting dies, some successful, some not so, but it is a fun technique and I am learning a lot about what will work and what won't.

So, the stamped image for this card is April from Penny Black
Fussy cut by me
The die that I embossed with is Die-Namics Chicken Wire
and the Hello die is from Hero Arts
Image painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)
and I promise that the Hello is smothered in clear Wink of Stella

Our sponsor for this challenge is FRECKLED FAWN

All of a dither

Morning all.  Hope this finds you well - halfway through the week (almost) so nearly the weekend, wheee!

Actually, it's the weekend that has had me all of a dither.  There is a wedding on Toad's side of the family, his nephew in fact, so there was a certain amount of implied pressure for a wedding card to be made.  However, it wasn't all that straightforward as we have been lead to believe that the bride has either been married before, or in a long term relationship, and she has children.  The wedding is a registrar affair in a country house, so it's not all meringues and flounce, well, we don't know for sure, so the card was a bit of a puzzle.

Did I do a normal wedding, a more modern theme, something completely different?  There were two or three dry runs and in the end I thought, oh to heck with it, a wedding's a wedding after all.

So, I have used Whimsy/Wee Stamps - Love Me Do
Painted in Distress Inks (ReInkers), Polychromos and A Wink Of Stella
Sentiment is from LOTV Quotables: Love clear stamps set
Papers are LOTV/Nitwits Petal Fresh and Frosty Christmas (the blue, honestly)
Love die from Whimsy, corner die a magazine freebie
MFT In & Out Stitched Rounded Corner die
and a smudging of Antique Linen Distress Ink around the layers to soften it all up

Toad will be travelling down to the wedding by train.  I'm not going, for various reasons, but we don't feel that we can leave Rosie for such a long day on her own just yet.  Which means, she and I get a crafty day together!

Anyhoo, that's me done for midweek - hope the rest of yours goes well.
Hugs to all
