Sweet Birthday Wishes (DT) Dies To Die For

Hello peeps, here I am, on this rather warm weekend.  I know it's June, and it is meant to be warm but it has gone from freezing to boiling so fast that I haven't had a chance to shed my winter coat yet.

Speaking of shedding, Rosie (my tabby cat) has a boyfriend (Meep, dark, handsome, dangerous) and it was his human's birthday this past week.
Rosie told me what to make - it had to have a Meep on it.

Now, the little kitty came from the BB New Best Friend set (which is no longer on the DTDF website, but does seem to still be on the MFT site) but there are loads of stamp sets with small cats that would work equally well.

Images painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers).

Have a super weekend - don't forget the Factor 50 cream if you're out in the sun (we're not used to it!)

Hugs

Woof Pack Catastrophe (DT) Dies To Die For

Hello peeps, I hope you are all doing your best to keep safe and well in these troubling times.  For anyone who is unfortunately ill with this damnable virus, I wish you a good recovery.  For the rest of us, HANDS-FACE-SPACE, it is important, now more than ever.

Right then, on with today's make

Lots of goodies used on this one, all from DIES TO DIE FOR of course

Phew, a lot of stuff for a wee card!

Images were stamped onto Langton Hot Press (Smooth) watercolour paper, painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) as watercolours, and die cut.  The bird from the Leopards set was direct stamped onto the background paper (MFT Watercolor Wash - sadly no longer on website).

Right, I'm off to rescue a pork loin joint from the oven - guess what we are having for dinner tonight!

Hugs to all

Make Yourself At Home (DT) Dies To Die For

I don't know about you, but this bit between Christmas and New Year always leaves me scratching my head as to what day of the week it actually is, but the calendar says Saturday so it must be time for my DT post for Dies To Die For!

We are heading fast towards the New Year -  wow, January, won't that feel strange?
Anyhoo, after the frantic rush of Christmas makes, what comes next but thanks you's.

So, this sweet (or not so sweet as modelled on Rosie) little kitty was made with a whole lot of My Favorite Things ingredients

I used the Split Chevron die to make a stencil - as the lines between the blocks are quite fine, I wanted to use something sturdy that would withstand me daubing about with ink, so I used one of the MFT backing sheets that comes in the packets, the one with the logo on, because it is thickish and has a nice shiny finish.  I taped it over the card and gently sponged on Antique Linen and Walnut Stain Distress Inks to give that soft but worn look.

I stamped the kitty, masked him, and over stamped the sofa, and both are watercolour painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers).  The rug was simply die-cut from patterned paper.

And that's it really, quite a simple looking card, but it did take me some time!

Whatever you are up to for your New Year celebrations, I hope you have fun
(just not too many fireworks please - Rosie is terrified)

Hugs to all

Senior Pest Control Officer

One of the pages that I follow regularly on Facebook is that of Felix, the Hudderfield Station Cat.  Felix is the Senior Pest Control Officer at Huddersfield Railway Station.

She even has her own name badge and hi-vis jacket, and she can often be seen out on the station platforms chasing away pigeons and hunting for mice, although she does seem to spend quite a bit of time mooching in the Station office!

When I received the Playful Kittens stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, there was one kitty on that set who, with the addition of a couple of pen lines, was also wearing a hi-vis jacket.

and here is Felix herself

Rosie asked me to post the card to Felix, which I did, and it is on her Facebook today, currently receiving more Likes than I could ever have dreamed of for one of my cards!

Have a super Bank Holiday Monday everyone.

Hugs
Squirrel xx
