Pure Innocence in the Garden

Hello folks, if there is anyone left out there that is ..... sorry that I have been missing from blogland so much, but I've been struggling with an evil episode of sciatica.  It's been four weeks now and it is thoroughly miserable!

Anyhoo, as I haven't actually done much crafting for a while, I guess you are going to have to suffer the catch up of Easter makes that I managed to do.

This one was for mum and dad - mum always has the most amazing spring flowers in the garden and this made me think of her borrowing dad's wheelbarrow (it was never where he wanted it to be when he needed it)

This is a Pure Innocence stamp from MFT, but I've had her for so long that she has vanished from the website now.  Shame really, because she is super cute.

Painted entirely with Distress Inks (ReInkers)

Backing papers are a mix and match of MFT 6x6 from different pads

Matting layers were just plain white card inked up with Distress Oxide

Border and corner from stash (so old I'm amazed they still stuck)

Sentiment by Trinity Stamps

So that's it from me for today.  I hope you are all out there having fun in the Spring sunshine.

Hugs

As You Like It Challenge (DT) Circular Embellishments

Gosh, the year is galloping away from us isn't it - another two weeks gone, so it's time for a new As You Like It Challenge

This time we're asking you to use Circular Embellishments
(pearls, gems, flowers etc)

Now, I'm not good with embellishments, they bring me out in a rash, so I took the easy way out and punched my circles (snowflakes) from the same paper that I used for the snowy ground, at least this way I know they coordinate properly!

The winky face on the snowman is not part of the original stamp, I added that with my set of Your Next Stamp Fun Faces

Image painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)

Our lovely sponsor for this challenge is

Polkadoodles Ltd

Looking forward to seeing what you do with your circles

Dies To Die For (DT) Bright Holidays

Hello peeps, sorry I was MIA for my DTDF post last week, life just got the better of me I'm afraid.

Anyhoo, the preparations panic continues for Christmas

Stuff used
The frame used is from MFT - the square one is not longer available at DTDF but
and there are other brands of scallop edged frames on the website too

Bright Holidays was painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) with a little Stabilo Fineliner scribble for tree texture

Birthday Besties (DT) Dies To Die For

Hello peeps, I'm here, but I think I should change my middle name to "sorry I'm late again" - there is just so much going on at the moment that I really don't know my knees from my elbows.

Anyhoo, I have a sweet but very simple birthday card to share with you today

I have used
MFT Pure Innocence Birthday Besties MFT-PI-301 (there are two girls in the set)

I have paper pieced her dress from the gorgeous plaid papers - I love this set of papers, they all coordinate colourwise so beautifully
The rest of her is Distress Ink'ed (ReInkers)

It's my mum's birthday today, so we are about to dash off to visit with her presents and a yummy cake, and a bucketful of blackberries that Toad picked for her yesterday

Hugs to all

Bright Future (DT) Dies To Die For

Morning all, happy weekend to you!

I'm one of those crafty weirdos who doesn't mind making male cards, so when a new male image becomes available I get a little bit excited.

Image painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)
Dark red card is DCWV from stash
I don't have the die for this stamp so little chap has been fussy cut

Let's Curl Up (DT) Dies To Die For

I can't think of anything better to do today than curl up, preferably under the duvet, but I have a beef casserole to get prepped and in the oven for a slow cook for dinner, and another batch of Bolognese sauce to get made for the freezer.

Did you all manage to have a good (under the circumstances) Christmas?  I heard a lot of "oh, that is Christmas ruined" but, seriously, Christmas wasn't ruined, it was the expectation of a house full of over-fed relatives and bored children that was ruined!  We managed to get to Mass on Christmas morning as even though we are now in Tier 4 it is still permitted, so that started the day off well.  Then it was home for a bacon sandwich, present opening, a nap, a film, and a turkey dinner.  It was perfect, just me, him, and Rosie Pud.

Boxing Day was a little different.  I would normally cook a meal for my parents, take it over, and we would sit down to eat together.  However, this year I took the decision that (as I had been mixing with people at work, and Himself has been mixing with Church people)  it was too much of a risk that I wasn't prepared to take, sitting around a dinner table for a couple of hours in close quarters.  I think mum and dad understood.  In the end, I packed them up a picnic tea and took it over in the afternoon so that they could dive into it whenever they felt like it.  I spoke to mum the next day and she said they were still munching, so that sounds like it was a success.

I've had a much needed two weeks away from work but will be back in on Monday.  Not sure how I feel about that yet - getting up at 6.00am is going to come hard after a couple of weeks snoozing until 8.30.

Anyhoo, you came over for today's DTDF post, so here it is.

Lovely things used from DTDF for this card are:

Background paper is a scrap of MFT 6x6 True Blue Houndstooth (retired)
The plain circle die I used was from a Tonic set because it was just the right size for what I wanted, but any similar sized circle die would have done.

I stamped the foliage items with Tuxedo Black, Grape Jelly, and Morocco Memento inks onto white Bristol Board and I Distress Ink painted the leaves.  Foxy was stamped onto Langton Hot Press (Smooth) watercolour paper, again painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) and die cut.  I added him using foam pads to raise him up a little bit.

So, that's me done for today.

Winter Kisses (DT) Dies To Die For

Hello chaps, did you miss me last week?  Sorry about that, things all went a bit wobbly for a while.

Anyhoo, not to worry, here are some Winter Kisses for you.

Things used
I used the double stitched stax dies on this but the single stitched are

Image painted with Distess Inks (ReInkers).  I couldn't buy the die for this one so she has been fussy cut.

Thank You (DT) As You Like It Challenge

Well, here we are then, 2020!  If you are not sick of hearing it, HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all.

The change of year doesn't change the alternate Thursdays so here we go with the first
challenge of 2020 for AS YOU LIKE IT

There is no choice to be made this time, we would just like to see your thank you
creations.

I was dragged up properly and taught that a thank you costs nothing, but means so much.
I am still a firm believer in that.

Should I have warned you about the colour bomb?!

Lovely things used for this are:
Sunny Studio 6x6 Jewel Tone papers
Lots of Distress Inks for painting and stencilling

Our sponsor for this theme is

I do hope that you will find time to join us in the next fortnight.  We have an exciting year of challenges ahead of us (I know, I have seen the list!)

Hugs to all

You Color My World (DT) Dies To Die For

HOLLLLLLIDAAAAAAAAAAY!  Yes, today chaps, you find me at the start of a week's holiday, whoop whoop!  It has been a long time coming, that is for sure.

Now, I know there is a u missing from the title, but if you put Colour into the search box, you won't find this gorgeous little lady!  I never did really understand why, if the British sent so many settlers to the US, their spelling is so quirky!

and that's it, simple is as simple does, apart from a splash of Distress Inks (ReInkers)

Bundles of Love (DT) Dies To Die For

Morning all, how is your weekend panning out?  Too early to tell?
Well, I really hope that it is everything you want it to be.

I'm not sure why, but the Pure Innocence girls from MFT don't seem to do as well in the UK as they
do in the US, which is a real shame, because they are such cuties, and so versatile.  I really like them so I shall continue to share them with you until you surrender!

Of course she has been painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) and I have used
a tiny layer of kraft card to separate the yellows from each other

Hugs to all

For The Birthday Girl (DT) Dies To Die For

Morning all, a very weary Squirrel today, but on the up side, I have a four day weekend!

Did the FaceBookers of you see that my mousy make for DTDF last week was "Whimsy Stamps Sunday Spotlight"?  (cheesy grin)

Anyhoo, today's make isn't mousy or cheesy, but it's still pretty darned cute.

So, ingredients

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Celebrating Squidgy (DT) Dies To Die For

Morning all, just popping by with my DT for today before we get togged up and head over to the Oldies where we have a little job waiting for us of shifting half a trailer (and I mean tractor trailer) load of firewood into the shed in the dry!

Something a bit busier for you than usual today, I got a bit carried away with pretty colours.

So for this cheekycreation I have used:

The Squidy is painted with Distress Inks ReInkers and I used some fineliner pens to add colour to the champagne bottle labels .  After she was die-cut, I popped her onto to some foam pads to lift her away from all those papers and give a tiny bit of dimension.

OK, time for me to strap my knee up and put my big girl boots on ready to go lumberjacking!

Have a super weekend everyone

Holiday Cheer (DT) Dies To Die For

Morning all, popping in today with something (almost) seasonal for you
(well, the temperatures are dropping!)

So deep breath and off we go

D'ja know, I am starting to worry myself with all these lists of stuff - before you know there will be ribbon sneaking in there!

Anyhoo, the image is painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers).  Confession time, my first attempt was a resurrection of the Copics and.....well, I got the DIs out again!

Hugs

Good grief, a challenge card

OK, so, I've been off work this week and whilst it has been baking hot and in between
going out to different places and laying on the floor like a limp lettuce, I have been making
Christmas cards (aaargh) for my mother's order.  Feeling a little underwhelmed, I decided
it was time I perked things up with a challenge so had a mooch around to see what I could
find and, lo, what should behold me but a Wednesday Sketch Challenge from MFT Card Challenges

and here is the sketch

I am a sucker for these Pure Innocence little girls so when this one popped up in the new
release I knew that she would be coming home to me.

So, I have used for this:
a retired Die-Namics Window die
Black card is from PDA Card & Craft and the brown for the
window frame is Papermania pearlised

I did the clouds with Broken China Distress Ink Oxide and a finger dauber
and the image (the bits not paper pieced) is painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) with
Polychromos Pencils for her hair

Twice in one day is a bit much for a little squirrel so I am off to find a cool, dark, room
to whimper in for a little while!

Hugs to all

Blowing Kisses (DTDF DT)

Morning all, here I am with a card that says it all about my organisational skills!

I do like a stamp that is versatile and multi-purpose, and although I bought this one for a specific reason, it came in very handy this week for something else

How could you be cross with that little face?

(you can find the matching die here)

As you can see, I kept with the polka dot theme and paper pieced her dress, but the leftover bits are painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)

I tried keeping a diary, but kept forgetting to write in it.

Sigh.

Hugs to all
