Wyanet (DT) DTDF

Morning all!  A bit earlier for me today but it's dad's birthday and, knowing me, I will be finishing wrapping his presents before we pop over later today with the gifts and some cake!

Today, for my DIES TO DIE FOR make, I am using this little sweetie

So the main ingredients for this are:

I painted the image with my usual Distress Inks (ReInkers)
I used some linen card for the matting layer and also the underlay (?) to put the blue behind
the zig-zag holes and coloured both with Copic colours.  I tried to match as near as possible to the Distress Ink colours.  I coloured a scrap of it to use for the die-cut words too, so for me, this is just about coordinated!

Now, Mr Toad has a narrow gauge model railway.  It's been getting bigger, and now he
has ventured into the realms of building scenery.  Scenery (rocks and cliffs at the moment) that involve wet plaster and silicon moulds.
They come out white and looking like lumps of chalky plaster.
The sets come with little pots of paints.
HOWEVER
He has now decided that the colours of some of my Distress Inks are better.
I've told him to buy his own!

Have a super weekend all
Hugs

In The Pink (DT) Flower Power

Morning all.  I have been a terrible blogger recently and only seem to be popping up on Thursdays with Design Team pieces.  I promise I will try harder, but my change of jobs in April means I have fewer hours in my day now, which makes evening blogging much more of a challenge!  Anyhoo, it's a Thursday, so here I am with another Design Team make.

It's a new challenge from those lovely ladies over at IN THE PINK and this time around the challenge is a perennial favourite (the gardeners among you will spot that pun) and it is FLOWER POWER.

It's up to you how you use flowers on your make, but we want PINK and we want FLOWERS!

Here is my DT make:

So, I have used Dyanne from Whimsy Stamps/Wee Stamps
and painted her with Distress Inks (ReInkers) with some Polychromos assistance
Papers are Nitwits from LOTV (now retired sadly)
The flowery border punch on the gingham is a Martha Stewart punch
and the white daisy border is also a Martha Stewart punch
Custom sized card base
I've not added a sentiment as she could be used for so many occasions

Our sponsor for this petalicious challenge is BUGABOO STAMPS

Looking forward to seeing you there.

AYLI (DT) Favourite Papers

Hello AYLIers, it's your favourite day chaps, time for a new challenge with the talented

This time the challenge is a tough one, it's your Favourite Papers - and please remember that you need to tell us why they are your favourites.

What a silly thing to make us choose!  Favourite papers, favourite pet, same thing.  OK, if I am forced to make a decision based on what papers do I go to most often, then it's going to be Nitwits, which is what I used for this card.....or Dovecraft, which I didn't.

So for this I have used one of the Flower Fairies from Wee Stamps
Painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) to match with the
Country Lady paper pad from Nitwits (sold by LOTV)
Sentiment is by Kaisercraft
Top die is from Tonic, one of a set of three
and the one underneath that is a Joanna Sheen edger die I think

and of course we have a super sponsor for the challenge and it is

£10 voucher
It's your turn now, you have two weeks to rummage through that stash of papers and choose YOUR favourite!

In The Pink (DT) Fly Away

Morning all, I hope you are all feeling in the pink today, because it's a new IN THE PINK challenge!

The post title might be a bit of a give-away but I am thrilled to tell you that I am now a Pink Lady.  I am doing a job share with my talented blog buddy Annette so you will see us in turns as the challenges go on.

So, for my first official appearance the theme is
FLY AWAY
that's things with wings please

I love these Flower Fairies from Wee Stamps - they are just adorable, and suit pink so well!
Painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) with Polychromos Pencils for her hair and flowers, and a sprinkle of Glamour Dust on her wings
Lucy Cromwell papers
Chalked clouds by me
Die-Namics double stitched circle die, Tonic scalloped circle die, Lawn Fawn Puffy Clouds border dies, Die-Namics brushstrokes word die

Of course you want to know who the sponsor is, and it's the lovely Nikki at
BUNNY ZOE'S CRAFTS with a £10 voucher
gif maker

So come on, you have two weeks to get your wings on and be pink!

Hugs

All of a dither

Morning all.  Hope this finds you well - halfway through the week (almost) so nearly the weekend, wheee!

Actually, it's the weekend that has had me all of a dither.  There is a wedding on Toad's side of the family, his nephew in fact, so there was a certain amount of implied pressure for a wedding card to be made.  However, it wasn't all that straightforward as we have been lead to believe that the bride has either been married before, or in a long term relationship, and she has children.  The wedding is a registrar affair in a country house, so it's not all meringues and flounce, well, we don't know for sure, so the card was a bit of a puzzle.

Did I do a normal wedding, a more modern theme, something completely different?  There were two or three dry runs and in the end I thought, oh to heck with it, a wedding's a wedding after all.

So, I have used Whimsy/Wee Stamps - Love Me Do
Painted in Distress Inks (ReInkers), Polychromos and A Wink Of Stella
Sentiment is from LOTV Quotables: Love clear stamps set
Papers are LOTV/Nitwits Petal Fresh and Frosty Christmas (the blue, honestly)
Love die from Whimsy, corner die a magazine freebie
MFT In & Out Stitched Rounded Corner die
and a smudging of Antique Linen Distress Ink around the layers to soften it all up

Toad will be travelling down to the wedding by train.  I'm not going, for various reasons, but we don't feel that we can leave Rosie for such a long day on her own just yet.  Which means, she and I get a crafty day together!

Anyhoo, that's me done for midweek - hope the rest of yours goes well.
Hugs to all

Springtime

Morning all.  Well, me and Rosie have been to the vet this morning for her vaccinations.  I had bought a pair of leather gardening gloves in readiness for getting her in the carrier but with a little encouragement from some Dreamies treats I didn't actually need them.  I am pleased to say that even though she howled all the way there, she was putty in the vet's hands (I would have been too, he's very handsome) and she had her vaccine and worming tablet without a squeak.  I am very proud of her.  The return visit in three weeks for the top-up might be a different matter though!

It's said that great minds think alike, and I notice that my bloggy pal Annette has posted a card using the same image today!

This cutie is Springtime from Whimsy/Wee Stamps
Painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)
I have used my favourite dies of the moment
MFT In & Out Stitched Rounded Corner Squares
a border punch from Martha Stewart
Petal Party dies from Memory Box
and a lot of Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet Distress Inks with a blending sponge
Sentiment is from LOTV
and the sparkly gems from my stash

Hope you are having a super day

Without Words (DT) February

Hello chaps!  What a wonderful way to start the week - a new challenge from Without Words!

As it is February, the month of lurrrve, our theme at the challenge is Je t'aime
Yes, we want you to be saying "I love you"
It doesn't have to be Valentine, it could be for a friend, a parent, a sibling, or even a pet, but we want to see you getting loved up and romantic.

Here is my DT card

So, this is one of the four Wee Playful Kittens by Sylvia Zet
Painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)
Sentiment is Paper Smooches
Shaped die is Spellbinders
Stitched circle die is MFT Die-Namics
and that really is it - small but perfectly formed, lol

We would love you to join in with the challenge but please do remember to check on the rules first, and step away from those pesky embellishments!

Hugs to all
