Freshly Picked Bouquet (DT) Dies To Die For

Things are springing in the garden, buds are opening and
colour is spreading.  It makes me happy.

Even though it is pouring with rain this morning, Mr Blackbird is out there giving it full voice and that always lifts my spirits.

Painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) - I'm sorry that the camera doesn't show the subtly of the shading, it just seems to say "ooh, ok, yellow"

Floral Corners (DT) Dies To Die For

Hello chaps, a very worried little Squirrel here today

Why am I worried?  I seem to be buying a lot of floral stamps lately, and that is sooooo unlike me!  I mean, where's the cute?

But when they are this pretty, I just can't resist them

I've painted the flowers with Zig Clean Colour Real Brush pens as watercolours.  They give a brighter effect than Distress Inks, and sometimes that's just what's called for.

Background plain papers are from Trimcraft.

One made, several to go .... and not much time, best get busy.

Tumbleblossom #9 (DT) Dies To Die For

Now, over here in the east, we have a little phase for running late, and it is "I'm all behind".  Well, yes, I am, and with all this lockdown snacking I am rapidly heading that way in other departments too!  I have never been so grateful for elasticated waistbands.

So, for today's make.  I thought I may have bitten off more than I could chew when this stamp arrived but, honestly, once I got started with the colours it was a joy to work with, even though it was a lot bigger than I had anticipated.

So I have used

Flowers are coloured with Zig pens, and I tried the out-of-the-die technique but I struggled to find a die to fit well with the stamp.  Ho hum.

Anyhoo, that is me done for today, stay safe everyone.

Anything Goes (DT) As You Like It Challenge

Morning peeps, Happy January to you all!

Well, it is the first AS YOU LIKE IT CHALLENGE of the New Year and
we are starting you with an easy one with Anything Goes

I have been busily making a lot of thank you cards after Christmas and this is the
one that I am sending to my Oldies, not just for Christmas but for being such
wonderful (if worrisome) parents

So for this one I have used
Personal Impressions sentiment by Paula Pascaul

Image was coloured, as always, with Distress Inks (ReInkers) used as watercolours

We have a fabulous sponsor for this challenge, and one of our leader's favourite stores:

Shop

Now all the fuss is over and the kids are back at school, you should have some time
on your hands to be able to join in - looking forward to seeing you there!

Hugs to all

In The Pink (DT) Embossing

Hello peeps, it is my turn on the Pink Job-Share with Annette to bring you something for the challenge starting at IN THE PINK today.

For this fortnight's challenge we are asking to see your EMBOSSING - that can be wet or dry, or with dies/stencils - there are a surprising number of embossing techniques so we would like you to show yours.

I have been wanting to try the white outline style of embossing for a while but couldn't see to find the right stamp/image, until I bought a magazine with a fabulous floral stamp/die set as the free gift.

Ooh get me, all subtle!
So the flowers were stamped with VersaMark and I used a fine white heat embossing powder.  I painted the petals and leaves with Distress Inks (ReInkers) and then fussy cut the whole bouquet.
The vase was also stamped, embossed and painted, but there was a vase die with the freebies so that was simple.
Some polka dot and candy striped paper from my scraps box
Tonic scalloped edged dies for a little bit of interest
and a Tattered Lace sentiment die (which was a freebie with their magazine)

We are thrilled to have on board Tracy from Dies To Die For as
our very generous sponsor of this theme with a £15 store voucher for the lucky winner.

Hugs to all
Squirrel xx
