Anything Goes For Christmas (DT) As You Like It Challenge

Well, here we are then, the last challenge theme of 2022 at

The theme for this one is Anything Goes For Christmas
(no favourite to choose from - it's all up to you this time)

I love the leadup to Christmas in that there is always new crafty stuff just begging to be bought and who doesn't love new craft stuff?  My excuse is that I need something that the husband won't have seen
before, and I am sticking to that one!

So I have used
Painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)
LawnFawn Snowflake border die
Mixture of random snowflakes for the background
Matting card and paper from stash

This might be the last challenge of 2022, but don't forget to watch out for 2023 when we start a whole new year of challenges for you to have fun with!

It's not been the best year for me personally, so I am looking forward to January and a fresh start, hopefully I'll be blogging a bit more too.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas

For My Dad

Morning all, hope you are feeling fine and dandy today!

I've been going through a phase of super CAS cards again, but for Father's Day last weekend
I did actually go a little bit (but not much) further.  Dad's not a great one for fuss, and he was
absolutely chuffed as little mintballs with this one.

So, let's see what I used
Lili of The Valley Vintage Boy (from the last time they released some physical stamps)
Lawn Fawn Puffy Clouds edger die
MFT 6x6 plaid papers
MFT 6x6 striped papers
MFT DieNamics Modern Serif Alphabet dies
and a fair splashing of the ol' Distress Inks (ReInkers)

One of his favourite things to do is go for a fish n chip lunch at their local
garden centre, so as well as 1/2 ton of liquorice allsorts and fruit jellies, I gave him
some universal gift vouchers for him and mum to treat themselves.  I made a little gift wallet themed
for the occasion.

Well, that's about all from me folks, I have a joint of pork in the oven (fingers crossed for crackling rather than sogling) and it smells divine, and a washing machine full of stuff that I am about to get out on the line.  If I'm not back within a week then I'm dangling from the washing line still.

Knitting Penguin (DT) Dies To Die For

Hello everyone, hope you are ok this morning.  A huge furry hug going out to anyone who needs it.

Like many kids of my generation, I was desperate to learn to knit so that I could make a Tom Baker Dr Who scarf.  I was taught the basics by my mum, and did manage a scarf (sort of) which I wore a lot.  I'm not sure that I have knitted anything since!  Actually, that's a fib, I did knit a jumper, it had no shaping, it was just rectangles sewn together, and I did wear it once, just once.  I wonder what happened to that?!  Having failed to get to grips with two needles, I am now trying to learn to cope with one with a bit of crochet.  Not convinced that this adventure is any more successful!

Anyhoo, this little chap has certainly got the hang of things

The sentiment comes with the stamp so, as always, good value from Stamping Bella.

Santa's Helpers (DT) Dies To Die For

I need more than Santa's help this morning, this new Blogger interface is arrrrgh!  I really, really, dislike change for the sake of change.  I wouldn't mind so much, but the bit that has been changed is the bit behind the scenes that only us get to use, and it is frying my brain this morning.

I'm a bit later than usual today as I overslept this morning.  Not by much, but enough to put me behind.  Mind you, I was home-working on Wednesday (having returned to the office on Monday) and hubby woke me up with a "It's 8.45 you know" - flipping heck, I'm supposed to be logged on by 9.00!  That was a very quick lick and a promise in the bathroom and Weetabix induced indigestion.

I am finally getting my a**e into gear with the C** cards, I thought it was about time that I made a start.  This is my fourth this year.  Only another 46 to go, gulp.

I've had this stamp a while, but I have only just plucked up the courage to deal with the colouring of all the details!

So I have used:

and an older, retired, MFT Chevrons pad

Imagine entirely painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) as watercolours.

So, that's that bit done, now I need to think about getting a chunk of gammon in the oven to roast!

And as I haven't entered a challenge for a very long time, I'm popping this little lady into the

Long Time No See (DT) Dies To Die For

Morning all, happy weekend to you.  Now that we are in to September, my crafty mind has gone into panic Christmas mode.  Why do I always leave it so late?!

I crocheted the husband a bobble hat earlier in the year.  Despite very careful and repeated measurements it came up rather large, it will certainly keep his ears warm, and probably his knees as well - a bit like this one.
Do penguins have knees?

All I can say is thank heaven for "Stick It" adhesive sheets, I would have got in a real mess with that delicate snowflake without it.  I discovered the joy of it some time ago and used to be really sparing in how often I used it, but I must be getting lazy in my old age as I find myself reaching for it time and time again these days.

Summer or Autumn (DT) As You Like It

Here we are again, another alternate Thursday which brings a challenge from AS YOU LIKE IT.

This time our theme is Summer or Autumn (your choice, but please explain)

I'm not a huge fan of summer (surprising really as I was born slap bang in the middle of it, today in fact) as I struggle with the intense heat.  I much prefer the more mellow days of autumn, the warmth is kinder, the light is softer, and I love the rich tones of the foliage changing from green to gold.  I don't even mind the evenings getting shorter, it's nice to be able to close the curtains on the world and be safe and snug indoors.

I have used Playful Henry from CC Designs.  The stamp is no longer available but you can get him as a digi.
I stamped Henry and his leaves onto kraft card and coloured the leaves with Polychromos pencils.  I stamped Henry again onto watercolour paper, colouring him with Distress Inks (ReInkers) and Zig Clean Colour Pens, fussy cut him, and laid him over the previously stamped outline.
For the leaves, I got messily inky with some Distress Inks and then die-cut with some Lawn Fawn stitched dies.
The sentiment stamps are a Whimsy set.
Finally, some matting and layering with autumn tones of plain papers.

I do hope you will find time to come and join us.

Dancing (DT) Dies To Die For

Morning all, sorry that I am a bit later than usual but I had to have a lay-in to tell the difference between weekdays and the weekend.  This home-working lark has messed with my head a bit, and that's without all the connectivity issues of the week!

So, what are you doing for exercise while you are trapped at home?
I'm not a great one for jogging or gym work, but I do love a boogie, so I have been dancing around in the kitchen to the radio - good job we are not overlooked by the neighbours too much.

I did once have a chap in the next road ask why we got up so early - I asked how he knew - from his house he apparently can see our kitchen window so knew when the light went on.  Hopefully his view wasn't good enough to see in as we never did replace the rollerblind that fell to pieces.

Anyhoo, today's card - this could be me, but I suspect I don't look anywhere near this cute when I'm shuffling around.

This dancing queen was coloured with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and then fussy cut.
Papers are a pad of watercolour effect that I picked up in Hobbycraft.

So that's me for today.  Please keep safe and well and listen to the right advice.

Frida Loves Frosty (DT) Dies To Die For

Morning peeps, I hope you are all more prepared for Christmas than I am this year.  My Santa report probably reads something like "F - Must try harder".  I swear that as soon as the clocks change in March time simply accelerates to January and I am left floundering in the wake.

Anyhoo, there is always time for everyone to have a festive hug, including Frosty

Lovely things used to make this are:

This will be my last DT post for Dies To Die For this year, and I am having a small sabbatical for January so I shall be back at it again on 1 February.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy 2020.
Thank you for all you support throughout this year.
