Gingerbread Lucy

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!  Well, it is well and truly December this weekend!
I hope all of you that have snow are snug and warm (and safe) indoors.  We haven't had
any of it yet, and although it can be a bit of a nuisance, part of me is really hankering
to see a little flurry or two.  All we have are sub-zero temperatures and an
evil north-westerly wind.  Mind you, rain forecast for tomorrow so I guess that
might just, maybe, turn white and fluttery!

Anyhoo, I am here today with a little heart warmer for you today.  Last week
my DTDF Teamie, Kat, (Festive Bottle Tags) showed you how to use this die as a stunning tag for a
wine bottle, but I have used mine to make a door hanger
(yes, I know it's not on a door, it's actually hanging from one of my saucepan hooks!)

I have painted Lucy with Distress Inks (ReInkers) and followed
the colour scheme on the stamp pack because it was so warm and cosy.

AYLI (DT) Favourite Christmas Carol/Song

Hello peeps, how are your festive preparations going?  Mine are in their usual state of chaos I'm afraid.  I'm never sure how Christmas manages to sneak up on me every year like this.

Anyhoo, it's a new challenge from AS YOU LIKE IT today and the theme is Favourite Christmas Carol or Song.

For me it's a song rather than a carol, and it is a bittersweet one this year as Greg Lake has just passed away.  "I Believe In Father Christmas".  I have loved this ever since it was released, and the first hearing of it always reminds me of how close to Christmas we are.  The words are quite thought provoking.

Christmas for Vegetarians

Afternoon all, how are you today?  Toad and I have taken a couple of days off work (my last until Christmas itself) and yesterday we went and made a start on the Christmas shopping.  We did quite well, and I managed to get everything that I had on my list to get that day, so we came home feeling quite chuffed.

However, a day on the feet, pounding the pavements, has played havoc with my arthritic knees so we are having a quiet day at home today.

Having said that, Rosie had her six month check-up at the V.E.T. this morning.  I devised a plan for getting her into the carrier that involved a trail of Dreamies but seriously, that cat is not daft.  She munched the first few and then sat and looked at the box, so we had to resort to the grab and shove method!

So, Christmas for vegetarians huh, yes, well, I have a couple of vegetarian mates for whom the roast turkey dinner is certainly off the menu, which could be why this chap is looking so pleased with himself.

I'd been rummaging through some older stamps and found this one
Tom Turkey from High Hopes
Painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)
Papers (some of which are glittered) are all from the
Dear Santa by Helz Cuppleditch (Trimcraft) collection
MFT Die-Namics stitched scalloped rectangle frame

(the Christmas part is inside)

Whatever you are up to today, I hope it's a good start to your weekend

Not Just For Christmas

Morning all (just), hope you are all ok.  I'm running a little late today as I have been for a tail trim and colour, and then I made the mistake of sitting down with Rosie.  It was a bit of an effort to pull myself away if I'm honest.  She makes a great chair warmer.

Back in the summer, Lili of The Valley released their Odd Dog collection.  The stamps are all super adorable and can be used for so many occasions.  I had been looking at one in particular for an idea I'd had and thought "why not".  Here he is for my first November Design Collective make.

This stamp is Odd Dog Handwritten
If he fills that book with Christmas wishes then he must have been a very good pup indeed!
Painted with Distress Inks ReInkers)
Papers are Dovecraft Back To Basics
Dies are Die-Versions Corner Concepts
Sentiment from Trimcraft

With apologies to you and to Lili for this not being a particularly imaginative or ambitious make.  Ever since early September, just before the shingles outbreak, I have felt out of sorts and run down.  I'm really lacking in energy just now.  Hopefully a break from work this week will help sort that out and I might get some of my bounce back.
