Hmmmmm

OK, so I have written this post (in my head) two or three times, and thought better of it.  I felt that the original versions were probably too controversial and would end up with me being locked into virtual stocks and having virtual rotten fruit and veg hurled at me, so I chickened out.

School holidays have started, so begins six to eight weeks of talking to myself (possibly) but if you are one of those bloggers who no are no longer bound by the responsibilities of children in their various shapes and forms, or indeed never have been, then hellooooooooo, welcome, how are you?!

Anyhoo, I ramble.  Here's a card:

Small and sweet
LOTV Fairy Tea stamp
Painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) and Polychromos pencils
Papers are Maja Design - Coffee In The Arbour
Sentiment and the squiggle are, I think, Penny Black
5x5 card base

A little while ago I submitted a card to a magazine - something I recklessly do once in a blue moon.
It was ignored.  Again.  I don't think I shall be feeling reckless again any time in the foreseeable future.
(originally posted on my blog on 31 May - here)
If you recognise the papers then you will know which magazine it was.  They are off my Christmas card list for this year, not that they were on last year's either.

Whatever you are up to, I hope you have a fun day

Hugs to all
Squirrel xx

Aaah what a sweetie and such super papers too.

They were mad not to publish your card, as it's so adorable - i've never had the nerve to submit anything, so at least you are better than me !! and even though my son doesn't break up till tomorrow, bar a hols, i will still be visiting you, so don't think you've got rid of me, that easily ;-), Luv Sam x

It's gorgeous (well they both are) but I love how you've teamed the teapot papers! Fab idea and a lovely image. Love the colouring on her wings.
Yes, I recognise the magazine, and although I suspect they have hundreds of cards submitted, I would definitely pick yours. The colours are just 'me' and the wee girlie is so sweet. Don't give up hun, your designs are gorgeous.
ps - I'll be here for the summer too although like you, I suspect things will get a bit quieter in blogland!!

I've never been "bound" by the responsibilities of little people ... a dog is as maternal as I'm every likely to get!
Beautiful cards. Ignoring your magazine submission is their loss, goodness knows what they are looking for if not something that lovely.
Chin up whilst the world is ruled by children on school holidays :)

What a super adorable card, love the colours you have used for it too.

As for the mag card, it is a super duper beautiful card, perhaps it got lost in the post? They couldn't have received it or it would have been front page :)

As for "kiddies" does a 38 year old going on 6 count? I'll be here - sorry!

Oh those buggers ignoring you like that! I'll cross them off my Christmas card list too. In solidarity, my friend!

Sweet card.

But do tell the controversial subject!!! Why are you talking to yourself? Why are there school holidays? I thought the real world doesn't divide time by spring semester, fall semester, and summer. OR anyway that is what hubby tells me.

Personally Squirrel, if it was up to me, your lovely card would be on the front cover of the magazine, screaming "get a gander at this gorgeous creation!!!" Oh well, if they are untalented enough to recognise true talent, it's their loss......BIGTIME!

Love your Fairy Tea card too.

Hugs,
Jennifer. x

I am one of those who doesn't have youngsters to cope with any more and thoroughly enjoying it LOL. Unfortunately the tears and tanrums at the checkouts has already started, with kids behaving badly whilst being totally ignored by their parents/grandparents!
Okay, I am off my soapbox now and I love your delightful card :o)

Ok, my thoughts on this post in no particular order;

#1 - your acorn tea card is brilliant - so super cute and the paper is fab!

#2 - THAT magazine doesn't know a good, no AMAZING, card when they see it as that was one of my all time faves of yours

#3 - I have no kids so you will still have to put up with me - lol!

Big hugs, Kat xx
