As You Like It Challenge (DT) Favourite Non-Birthday Occasion

The calendar says it is Thursday, so unless I have turned over two days earlier in the week I am assuming it really is and that means it is a new challenge theme from the As You Like It team.

This time around the theme is
Your Favourite Non-Birthday Occasion
and tell us why!

Thinking this through, I suppose my favourite non-birthday occasion is actually a birthday really.
I love new baby cards, you can get away with unbearable amounts of cuteness and
nobody actually minds!

So, for this simple make I have used

I feel like I spent a lifetime on those petals, but the image has been coloured up with Distress Inks (ReInkers) and Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens

Sentiment was done on my Brother label machine

Green Pastures (DT) Dies To Die For

Hello peeps.  It is Saturday, isn't it, I think it is, surely it must be?
I have no words.  I am slowly going insane.

Which actually explains a lot.

So, all the things I have used are:

Little lady has been coloured with Distress Inks (ReInkers), Zig Clean Color Pens, and some paper piecing.  Stencil inked with Distress Inks and a finger dauber.  Yes, I know I have the fancy brushes but for some surfaces the dauber is still the best.

I'm off to rock gently in a corner until next week.

Milton With Daisy

Yes, I know it's Monday, yes, I know I don't normally post on a Monday these days, in fact, I don't know what has come over me.  Well, actually I do.  I was checking emails this morning and I get notifications from Addicted To CAS and I spotted that their challenge theme this time is Animals.  It has been such a long time since I entered any kind of challenge, and I had intended getting inky anyway, so what the heck.........

Here is my CAS make with an Animal on it (grin).

I've used an older Wild Rose Studio stamp - Milton With Daisy
Sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Many Messages
and a tiny strip of Lawn Fawn Dandy Day paper edged with Martha Stewart grass border punch

Milton was painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) and his daisy with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens

I shall enter Milton into two challenges

That's all folks

Tumbleblossom #9 (DT) Dies To Die For

Now, over here in the east, we have a little phase for running late, and it is "I'm all behind".  Well, yes, I am, and with all this lockdown snacking I am rapidly heading that way in other departments too!  I have never been so grateful for elasticated waistbands.

So, for today's make.  I thought I may have bitten off more than I could chew when this stamp arrived but, honestly, once I got started with the colours it was a joy to work with, even though it was a lot bigger than I had anticipated.

So I have used

Flowers are coloured with Zig pens, and I tried the out-of-the-die technique but I struggled to find a die to fit well with the stamp.  Ho hum.

Anyhoo, that is me done for today, stay safe everyone.

As You Like It Challenge (DT) Animals or People

Good morning everyone, is it Thursday?  I hope it is, the days are a blur, even with home-working, so I admit that I am all a bit vague, as I suspect the rest of you are too!

The highlight of my week has been the delivery of my computer mouse from the office.
I have used a track-ball mouse for about ten years now as I was getting horrible shoulder pain from a normal mouse, and a normal mouse was all we had at home.  I toyed with the idea of buying a new one, but Toad wouldn't use it afterwards, so I held on until I knew some other equipment was being dropped off - and now I have my beloved mouse back with me and, hopefully, that will help to sort out the aches and pains that have surfaced during the three weeks of being sat at a desk in the back bedroom home office.  I am referring to this set-up as the Twig Office, because it is so much smaller than a Branch.

Anyhoo, you didn't come over to hear me rambling, you came over for news of the
and this time our theme is Animals or People (please remember to tell us about your choice)

Not so long ago, you would not have seen a card from me without an animal on it unless I had used a Magnolia Tilda or a Lili of The Valley kid, but since then the wonderful Birdie Brown has entered my life and I absolutely adore her little people.  A close second are the quirky characters from CC Designs Roberto's Rascals, especially Twila and Nancy.  Looking back over the past year of makes, there are far more people than there are animals, so I have gone with people as my favourite for this challenge.

There is such a thing as taking colour coordination too far!

I have used this cute little girl from the CC Designs Surprise!!! stamp set
and coordinated her with some very bright and citrus-y papers from Sunny Studio Summer Splash which are available in the UK from Dies To Die For HERE.
Coloured up with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and a waterbrush

Adorable Elephant (DT) Dies To Die For

Now then, I'm figuring that I have been in the study all week working so this must be Saturday, right?
I had to drag a perpetual calendar out of mothballs to put next to the phone, just so that we stand a chance of knowing the day, that's if I remember to move it on each morning!

I am fast becoming notorious for forgetting birthdays, or remembering them late, so
I am definitely more squirrel than elephant, although at the moment, I am rapidly acquiring that shape.

Lovely things used for this card are

Elephant and balloon coloured with Zig Clean Color pens, and clouds inked with Distress Inks and a finger dauber.

Hope your weekend is a good one (and you can tell it apart from the rest of the week)

The Dies To Die For website it still up and running in these strange times, so you are still able to craft away your hours.

Hugs
