Dog With A Bone

Afternoon all.  It is SUNNY here today, and no wind!!  Let's hope this brief and very welcome reprieve is helping those water levels drop for those most affected by the atrocious winter weather we have had in the UK.

Now, I know I have said it before but Less Is More challenge has developed into a love/hate relationship for me.  I never seem to get it right, but like a dog with a bone, I keep worrying away at it in the hope that one day I might just strike lucky.  I don't think it will be this time but I had fun making the card, and that is more important any day.  The LIM theme this week is Masculine and it gave me a great excuse to get a new stamp inky.

This handsome little fella (and the sentiment) are from the new Tiddly Inks release
The set is called My Boys
and of course it has been painted in Distress Inks (ReInkers) on Bristol Board
that fab tartan paper is from the Basic Grey Oxford pad
X-Cut Palm Punch stars to finish off

That's me done, except to finish with a question for the pencil users out there.
Is there an alternative blending solution to Sansador?  I was using it yesterday and everything now stinks of it and it is giving me a headache.  It says "Low Odour" on the bottle, but to me it really pongs.  Maybe I should restrict its use to days when I can have the window open.  If you know of something that does the same job but doesn't have the smell, then please do let me know!

Hugs to all
Squirrel xx

Actually, that wasn't the end, because I need to tell you about the last few days of the mega-sale
at THE STAMP BASKET - lots of bargains to be grabbed before the new stock arrives
and loads of lovely goodies to have fun with.  Sale ends very soon so don't wait!

Love your card! As for blending your prismacolor pencils I found this on Splitcoast Stampers:

" I just bought a trial size bottle of Johnson's baby oil and it will last for a long time since I only use a few drops at a time. When I use baby oil, I put a small square of felt into a covered container and I add several drops of baby oil to the felt. I just dab the blending stump onto the felt to pick up some oil and blend my colors. When I am done, I place the cover on the container and it is ready to use for a later time."

I hope this helps.

Hugs,
Snoopy :D

Oooh love your TI image. He's lovely. And the tartan is fab too, very masculine.

I've also heard (like Snoopy) that you can use baby oil. I'd forgotten until I read her comment, but yes, I've definitely read about people using it before. Might be worth giving it a try.

Have a lovely Sunday evening hun.

Personally, I hate the smell of baby oil. There's a product another bloggy friend of mine uses and loves which I wanted to try but can't get here in the US (it's made in UK) called Zest-it. It's citrusy, so if you hate the smell of oranges it won't be much better, but they do market it specifically for use with pastels and pencils. http://www.zest-it.co.uk/zest-it-pencil-and-parchment-blends/

Cute card. I've heard of odorless mineral oil so umm... I'm assuming it is odorless. Gamsol? is what I use. I don't have a sense of smell so to me it doesn't have an odor. I can smell some things sometimes... I can't comment on the baby oil as it smells like babies. Ah-choo! What's in a Dove Blender pen? That works well too.

Anyway, great masculine card.
