A Rant and A Card

OK, let's get the rant over with first shall we.  When I received the last LOTV email newsletter, I was really surprised but very pleased to notice they had prepared a PDF file of all this year's Christmas images, including the new ones yet to be released on 25 August - I just wanted to be able to dribble a bit and plan what to spend my pennies on.

Anyhoo, on getting to the website the PDF file isn't there but there's a little notice saying it should be back up the next day.  So the next day comes, and the next and the next.  This morning I emailed LOTV to ask when it was coming back.  I got a very prompt and apologetic reply telling me that because of some problems with copying it has been removed from the website.

I thought about this for a bit, thinking it was some sort of a technical issue and then suddenly it dawned on me that some wicked person has been using those preview images for their own profit.  So to that person or persons unknown - thank you very much, you miserable, mean, dishonest, horrible, rotten, THIEVES!  When Judgement Day comes, you won't be going to Heaven, that's for sure.

And so dear readers, onto my card for this evening which is for this week's LILI OF THE VALLEY challenge of ROSES.

Now, I don't do a lot of fluff on my cards - it's not because I don't like it, but because it always turns out looking cluttered and too busy and then I get cross and upset and it ends up in the bin, so another plain and simple one for you!  The roses papers are all from the Wedding Bells collection by Wild Rose Studio.  The stamp, Emma Swing, and the Clear Additions sentiment are both LOTV, the flourish is Marianne Creatibles, and all the matting card is plain white coloured with a Sandstone ProMarker, as are the Candy Dots.  Image is painted with Distress Inks using Antique Linen, Old Paper and Frayed Burlap with Tattered Rose for the skin.  See, lots of roses!

Hugs, Sxx

With papers that gorgeous who needs fluff on their card! I'm with you on that one Squirrel, I like other peep fluff but mine looks more like it's thrown on rather than artistically designed.
Besides your card is absolutely gorgeous as it is. LOVE IT!!

Hi Squirrel,it's a shame that the few can spoil things for so many! What a gorgeous card,I'm with you all the way were the embellishments are concerned, some people have the knack of loading a card with them and making a beautiful creation,me,I end up with something less than lovely! Still,we create for the minimalist recipients lol! Have a good evening,Julie.x

Gorgeous card Squirrel. I love that sweet image. Sometimes I put lots of "bits" on my cards and sometimes leave them quite plain. I think with me it depends on the image.

I'm with you about some people spoiling things for everyone else.

It is a shame about people spoiling it for others but I must admit as soon as I saw that PDF the first thing I thought was 'should have put copywrite on it or someone will copy them'. Oh well as for your card, its gorgeous, love the colour tones and the flourish is fab. Debs xx

It is a shame but there are always people out there who don't care if they are spoiling it for others. What comes around goes around they'll get theirs in the end.

Your card is gorgeous, love the color tones, the flourish and the papers are perfect and beautiful.
Blessings Bernie

Some people are just despicable. One a brighter note your card is just the opposite, lovely! I'm with you I admire folks who can have lots and lots of bling, flowers, ribbons, papers etc on their cards. If I try it... looks like well lets just say it's not pretty! However your card manages 3 patterned papers and looks perfect!

Beautiful card and I love how you left off all the fluff. I am not a fluff person with certain images. These images are so cute, why take the eye away from them.
Didn't know about all that LOTV stuff. What a shame. I hope everything gets resolved and they can get their site back up again.

I LOVE the neutral matting on this and your colouring is gorgeous as always. I saw those LOTV Happy {fill in as applicable} stamps and I was so tempted. I may order them yet, as this one looks so very cool.
Besides, squirrels love roses - delicious!
