Morning all. Sorry (again) for being quite elusive lately. Rosie has been quite a distraction this week!
Anyhoo, where do I begin with this card. All right, the challenges first
Here is the original sketch from CC Designs
The ingredients for my card
CC Designs Roberto's Rascals stamp called Erica Texting
Painted in Distress Inks (ReInkers) with a touch of pencil for her hair
Fussy cut and matted with some MME papers (magazine freebies)
Woodware sentiment from the Friendship set
Isn't she beautiful?
Now, for AYLI, I have to tell you why I prefer Distress Inks over Alcohol Markers. I did had a dabble with marker pens a while ago but I never really acquired the skills to use them effectively. I had already worked with water colours so when I acquired the DI ReInkers it was almost like a duck to water. I love the sheer anticipation of picking up a paintbrush, wondering what colours to choose as they sit before me in the palette like shimmering jewels of loveliness. I am absorbed for hours at a time on one image, and I love how you can get so many shades and tones from one colour just by adding more or less water. It's relaxing too and the best therapy for calming down. Do I need to carry on? No, maybe not.
So, that's me for today. Now I need to go and do something domestic. Ha!
Hugs to all
Squirrel xx

This is fab! What a great stamp and back grand papers too. I love your explanation of why you love inks. I'm currently into pencils and have yet to try pens. It's a considerable investment and until I have the cash and the patience to learn, I'll stick to what I know!
A super duper card Squirrel and what a great sketch too. As usual your painting is incredible and thank you for joining in at AYLI. Looking forward to seeing more of Rosie xx
