Morning everyone, hope you are all ok. A couple of days ago my package of new rubber arrived from LOTV and I couldn't wait to play so I had a totally inky session and made this simple looking card, but there was a decent bit of work involved to achieve the look
First job was to shape the edge of the card, which I did with a Spellbinders edging die, but the cardstock is 300gsm so it took four rolls through the machine to get the cut. Then I made masks for the clouds using Joy Craft cloud dies and Post-it Notes (the new ones that are all over sticky). I wanted to make a stencil for the grass rather than using my Martha Stewart border punch so I ordered a DieNamics Grass die and cut using acetate so I could use the negative shape. I inked the grass first with a sponge and Shabby Shutters Distress Inks. Then I sponged the sky, with the cloud masks in place obviously, with Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Shaded Lilac.
I stamped Annabel Texting, painted her with Distress Inks (ReInkers) and then fussy cut (she is lucky to still have two pigtails), placed her on the card, and then stamped the Paper Smooches sentiment.
Start to finish was a couple of hours, but I am pleased with the end result!
Hugs all
Squirrel xx

This is gorgeous hunni, I lurve these new Annabel stamps I couldnt wait get mine inked up, so far I've only coloured the bike one up & half coloured the one with the dog....it reminds me of Payton ;0) This is just perfect hun.
Lotsa hugs Vicky xxx
Well worth the time spent, fabulous. I am waiting to get mine at Ally Pally along with some more James as I need more of him
She's lovely, and well done on the fussy cutting. She'd have been more of a tomboy if I'd been doing it as she'd have had a short-back-and-sides from me!
Love the ink work too, fab masking and great idea to use the negative of the die. It looks great. I don't know why, but I really love backgrounds on images, it makes it look more of a scene rather than a solitary image, but she still really stands out. Lovely colouring.
Hope the sun's out where you are. I've just put my washing on the line, so of course the clouds have just darkened. Typical.
Hugs

New LOTV? You don't say? No, you must not say. This is a great card! I could tell it took some work with all that masking and sponging and fussy cutting. I love the idea of the grass mask. I am going to have to try that myself because sometimes you need inked grass and not punched out grass.
