Puppy's Favourite Things (DTDF DT)

Morning all, TGI Saturday!

I started this project with a Distress Ink (ReInkers) coloured puppy, a bit of fussy cutting, and ended up with a little scene, it wasn't planned, it just sort of evolved of it's own accord.

The longish list of lovely things used on this are:

Hope you have a lovely weekend - keep warm, even if it does mean a vest and long-johns!

DTDF (DT) Space Explorer

Morning all, a bit of a snuffly Squirrel today.  I am soooooo fed up with germs.

So anyhoo, it is Daddy Squirrel's birthday tomorrow, and I would normally go something with gardening or DIY themes, but this year I wanted to show that "actually Houston, we have the problem covered"

I've painted all the image bits with Distress Inks (ReInkers) and I used a sheet
of old Basic Grey for the background as once I cut with the Lawn Fawn die, it did, to me, look like a scene from a science fiction movie!

Hugs to all

AYLI (DT) Favourite Way To Add A Sentiment

Hello peeps, is it warm enough for you?  Over here in the east the wind has been so bitter that I have had to resort to my Savage Squirrel pink bobble hat, which has caused one or two raised eyebrows at work!

Right then, it's Thursday so that means the start of new challenge with the AS YOU LIKE IT team.   This fortnight the theme is Your Favourite Way To Add A Sentiment (and why).

My most often way to add a sentiment is to stamp it direct to the image panel.  Unlike some of my teamies, this has never scared me and with the aid of an acrylic block I can usually get it straight!  I have an enormous library of sentiment stamps now, but there is always room for more.  I do love a sentiment with a good pun in it too.
As a bonus, I have added a stacked word die to this card, simply because it worked so well with the stamped words

For this little one I have used:

(sentiment came with the fawns)
Friend word die from Whimsy, cut three times from 300gsm card, and once from the Dovecraft paper so it's a nice deep stack and really stands off the card
Image is painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)

Hope you will find a way to have fun with your words and share them with us

Stamp Journal

I have been wanting to start a stamp journal for a long time.  Finally, in Paperchase, I found just the sort of book I wanted.  I bought 5 of them.

They have been staring at me, accusingly, for a while.

No more!  Today, I have finally made Page 1 inky/pencilly.  I even made a panel for inside the front cover.

I have used CC Designs: Dear Diary
Some old Basic Grey papers
Your Next Stamp: Alpha Bold
Image painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) and Polychromos Pencils

DTDF (DT) Hog Heaven

Pssst, me here, popping by to share the Valentine's card I made for himself
(keep it secret for now)

Lovely things used:

I cut the word die three times, two from thicker card, and once from the Plaid paper, to stack them for depth.  I love this effect, but I am so clumsy with glue that these "thicker" words work better for me.

I masked the piggy and fence panel rather than fussy cutting, and the entire image is
painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)

We're celebrating early because Valentine's falls on Ash Wednesday this year and Ash Wednesday is a "fast" day, so tonight I shall be tucking into a romantic (!) Chinese takeaway.

Hey, don't knock it, no cooking means more crafting time!

Hugs to all

Blowing Kisses (DTDF DT)

Morning all, here I am with a card that says it all about my organisational skills!

I do like a stamp that is versatile and multi-purpose, and although I bought this one for a specific reason, it came in very handy this week for something else

How could you be cross with that little face?

(you can find the matching die here)

As you can see, I kept with the polka dot theme and paper pieced her dress, but the leftover bits are painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)

I tried keeping a diary, but kept forgetting to write in it.

Sigh.

Hugs to all

AYLI (DT) Faux or Real Stitching?

1 February, thank goodness, that means miserable January is out of the way!  Let's get on with the rest of the year and another challenge from the AS YOU LIKE IT team.

This time the theme is FAUX OR REAL STITCHING - you will need to use either on your make, and tell us about your preference.

I love the look of real stitching on a card, it seems to add that little bit of extra, but I just can't do it.  I have tried, unpicked, tried, unpicked ...... binned the card.  You get the picture.  So, when the advent of faux stitched dies came along, I thought all my prayers had been answered.  Why have all the stress when the fiddle has been done for you!  The faux stitching adds interest, without being overpowering, and finishes layers off beautifully.

I have used for this little one
and the little Leo is painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) with some
Polychromos Pencil help for his mane

The sponsor of this challenge is Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez
who is providing a prize of 3 images from her store:

So, you can either dash off and haul that sewing machine out of the cupboard, get a needle threaded, or find your favourite faux stitch die, the choice is yours.

Hugs to all
