OK, hands up, who used to be given Sanatogen Tonic Wine when they were feeling under the weather?
My mother always used to have a bottle of this stuff on stand-by, and I remember the dread of it being pulled out of the cupboard if I was off colour or particularly run down. Thankfully, now I am a grown woman I can take the tonic of my choice for occasions like this, and one of the best tonics I have found as a pick-me-up is a good colouring session.
I was definitely in Squirrel's World for this one, for at least three hours, bliss.
The stamp is Whimsy/Wee Stamps - Oak Tree Girl
I have coloured her hair with Polychromos Pencils, ranging from Light Cadmium Yellow right through to Walnut Brown
The rest of her has been painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)
Backing papers are all from the BoBunny pad of Autumn Song
and the maple leaves were done with a Martha Stewart punch with papers from the same pad
I haven't attached a sentiment as I haven't decided what to do with her yet, but I am really tempted to buy a square frame and mount her up to keep.
One of the best compliments I have ever had came from a dear blogging friend who, when I sent her this picture, said she thought at first glance it was a professionally coloured topper. That gave me the most wonderful warm glow for quite some time!
Sorry for the poor photo quality. A camera with a decent macro is on my wish list.
Now just to win the lottery.
Happy autumnal hugs to you all
Squirrel xx

Sanatogen lol ;-)
What a fabulous card. I envy your superb colouring skills. Well done :-)
Haha!! I also remember the feeling of dread when I scraped my knee and Mum would reach for the giant bottle of Iodine. *shudder*
Colouring is definitely better. ;) Love your colouring on this one, looks gorgeous!
Colouring is definitely my choice of tonic, it may not cure anything but it makes you feel better for a while and is a great distraction.
Your card is so beautiful. I adore the sweet image and your colouring is stunning! Yes, you should put this in a frame!
hugs Sue xx
Sanatogen...there's a blast from the past. My Sister and I used to have Sanatogen vitamins every morning. Mum would put them on our breakfast plates!! I really love your card and I would definitely frame it Squirrel, it's too gorgeous to give away!! xx
Sanatogen? sounds scary, don't think we have it over here.... Probably a good thing? ;)
Lovely creation again, yes, the colouring is fantastic! fingers crossed that you win the lottery! sending you big hugs!

Absolutely stunning hun and you have really captured the essence of Autumn in this card too.
I remember Sanatogen orange tablets, that my mine used to make us take !!, Luv Sam x
She is a beauty, love Autumnal colours. Hope you will enter my candy x
I don't remember the tonic wine, but I do remember the orange tablets!
Talking of orange, your autumnal card is GORGEOUS hun. Yes, it's really stunning and you SHOULD keep her. I think she'd be wonderful inspiration to you if you're ever lacking in the old mojo front. The colouring of her hair is stunning and I love all the detail even down to the flecks on the acorns. The leaves and leafy papers are just perfect match for theme and tone.
She's a special one hun.

Seems we're all in agreement, Squirrel - 3 hours of colouring is a far better medicine than any Tonic Wine and boy have you coloured this little sweetie beautifully! Love the Autumnal tones and I'm sure she'd look lovely in a nice wooden frame! Hugs, Lisa x

Yep! I remember the Sanatogen, I used to work in Boots on the "Drug" counter as it was called back then LOL. We used to sell loads of it too.
Your card is amazing and it would look gorgeous in a frame and I also agree with your friend, it looks professionally coloured, but then YOU are the professional aren't you?
Perfect card for this time of year, when Fall is knocking on the door. And I agree with your friend - the image is coloured perfectly. :)
