BBB

Which currently stands for Blasted (or other expressive B word) Bristol Board.  Oh, and Blaaaahh!  Today's card isn't today's card.  Today's card is now languishing in the bottom of the rubbish bag.  Having spent a while faffing about with paper piecing, I went to Distress Ink the rest of the image only to discover that I had a blodgy sheet of Bristol Board.  This happens on rare occasions, it is as if the finish on the sheet of paper isn't right, and the ink soaks in like it was blotting paper.

I sent a complaint to Winsor & Newton (the manufacturers) who sent a rather curt reply telling me to return it to the retailer.  Excuse me guys, but it isn't the retailer who makes the paper.  I was letting you know that you appear to have a glitch in your process.  Not interested?  Apparently not.  If I could find an alternative, I would be using it.

So, you aren't getting that card.  You are getting a quickie LOTV Art Pad one instead.

So, I have used a James Bear image from the Art Pad
A sheet of Bo Bunny Double Dots
And a Die-Versions border die
And that's kind of it

Keep your fingers crossed that tomorrow's session is more successful.

Hugs all
Squirrel xx

  2. I love your quickie the image is fab wish LOTV would do this James as a stamp and the colours are just my cup of tea. I have been looking at border dies but as even my fussy cards aren't really fussy i wasn't sure how I would use them as there are some fab ones out there, but love how you used yours . Should just have asked you so thank you for sharing your lovely card.

  8. I think if that was me, it would be an F situation :P

Seriously though, I hate crappy customer service, it really sucks.

The card you made instead is lovely anyway though :) I can't wait to actually get making cards again - I've been making wedding invitations for a couple for the last THREE MONTHS, and I finally handed them over to her on Thursday, so glad I never have to see them again haha :D I have literally made like three other cards since Christmas, don't know if I'll even be able to remember how to colour at this stage haha! Taking the weekend off and then straight back into crafting on monday, looking forward to it hehe :)

  15. My dad used to use the word 'Bar-Steward' a lot ;0) Fabulous card sweetie of course I lurbe the lush lotv image & the die is fab!! Bit of a crappy response from the manufacturer mind, I've never used bristol board for distress ink colouring, tbh I keep forgetting its in my drawer :0(

  18. Sorry you are having these problems with the card. I'm not half the artist you are, but I've had success with the reverse side of Crafter's Companion's Centura Pearl cardstock. Sheena Douglas uses it for all inky things and I've found it takes painted distress inks well. It might be worth a try :)

  25. I can think of a few 'B' words that would have been appropriate here! So frustrating for you :-(

I'm glad this card had a chance to be made and shown though because it is downright FABULOUS! Really, for a card with so few elements, the design is sooo eye catching - straight on my Pinterest board with that beauty :-)

    Big hugs, Kat xx
