Just call me Archimedes

Yesterday I mentioned having had a Eureka moment.  But I have to reassure you now that I was not in the bath and I was fully clothed, but I was out in the street when it happened.  Friday afternoon it was so hot and stuffy in the office that my head was getting thicker than usual so I stepped outside for a breath of air.  It's funny the things you think about when you aren't really thinking ..... thoughts just seem to waft around in your mind.

Anyhoo, I was thinking about a sheet of paper.  A specific piece of paper.  From the Basic Grey Oxford pad.  Yes, I know, my mind works in weird and wonderful ways.  And I was wondering what possessed BG to put that particular sheet in the pad as I couldn't see anyone ever finding a use for it.  And then KAPPOW!  I had "the moment".  I was feeling so gleeful that our Receptionist asked me why I was grinning when I came back indoors.

Stamp:  Penny Black - Here's Looking At You
Painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)
Papers are all from the Basic Grey Oxford pad
(it was the sheet with the specs that had been worrying me)
Sentiment is a Little Claire Postcard stamp
The letter U was brought to you today by Memory Box Parker Uppercase die set

And that's pretty much it.  I am not sure how I made a story from a random piece of paper but I guess I kinda did.
Told you I was odd.

Hugs all
Squirrel xx

  8. Ok, firstly, I do my best thinking in the bath, so don't ridicule it!

Secondly, I know EXACTLY what you mean about some papers in pads. I look at them and my mind goes blank wondering what on earth I'm going to do with them. I've found a few pads lately that I've loved all of the pages, (the Papermania Lucy Cromwell and First Edition Silent Night immediately ones come to mind), so I'm with you there.

Thirdly, this is a perfect example of where a paper that stumps you can suddenly come into focus (excuse the pun, I couldn't resist!!! LOL).

Love the image too. Penny Black were my first stamping obsession, and (don't tell the hedgies) I especially love the mice.

I like the 'outside the frame' style you've used too. Fab colouring of the meeces. So cute and you can even see the glass with the little blue flecks.

Finally, I love the mental image of you with the secret 'knowing' smile when you came back into reception from your inspiration moment.

I'll be off for my bath shortly to see if I get any similar inspiration! :0)

  22. I love the weird twists and turns our brains make. I love your card and I think this is exactly why that piece of paper existed. It can't be for any other reason.
