Thanks everyone for your good wishes for Vince. He got a thorough going over yesterday, and has had some bloods taken for testing. We should get the results of those midweek. The vet said she couldn't find anything "sinister" in his tum, which was what was freaking me out, and she was happy that his kidneys are ok. She did a glucose test while we were there and he is not diabetic (just what do you feed a diabetic cat?) but she is concerned about his weight loss. I know what she was thinking, having had two cats with thyroid issues, but we will just have to wait for the results of the tests. He is going to have to have a full dental treatment so if the results are clear, I will try and book him in for that asap.
In the meantime we were told to keep him on a bland, soft, diet of chicken and rice and white fish. Chicken, no problem. White fish, no problem. Rice? On your bike mate. Little devil manage to rummage about in the bowl, eat the chicken and leave every scrap of rice. Sigh.
Anyhoo, enough cat talk - here is a card for you:
This stamp is Angelica from Whimsy/Wee
Painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)
Papers are all Nitwits/LOTV Winter Wishes
Martha Stewart border punch

Hope you are having a good afternoon, whatever you are up to
Hugs, Squirrel xx

ReplyDeleteHope that darling Vince is better soon, love that little baby xxx
Brilliant ... Lovely card ..
ReplyDeleteAwww, poor little Vince, I hope there's nothing too serious wrong with the poor pet :( I've heard of feeding sick pets rice dishes before, but I just find it laughable hahahaha, my cats are the same...although they have been known to drink tea and eat chocolate digestives and cornflakes, so who knows right?! If I tried feeding them those things, they wouldn't touch them I bet, little brats :D
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card as usual, colours are beautiful and that wee image is so cute :)

reading your update - hope things sort out for little Vince. Have you tried the ground rice that you feed babies? Our dogs ignore the rice if off colour (any other time they woof the lot regardless of what's in the bowl) a friend said to mix the ground baby rice with a little week chicken stock .. .. it might work.

ReplyDeleteI couldn't stop laughing about Vince picking out all the chicken and leaving all the rice. Mine would be exactly the same. You can't make a cat eat something they don't want to eat. LOL Hope the bloods come back ok hun. We had a few days away as you know earlier this week, and dad was looking after our two, Arnie is on meds for his thyroid (and a host of other problems which I've lost track of now but cost a fortune in special food, pills and tests) but Arnie was not at home when Dad came over on Wed morning to feed him, so he didn't get his meds until we got home in the late afternoon. He was having blood tests on Thursday, but having his meds at a different time in the day can distort the results, and now the results have shown he has elevated levels of something or other, so he's got to have more tests done in a few weeks to see if it was the late medication or if there is something going on that means his meds need changing. *sigh*. More expense. Hubby asked if he was worth it! Then Arnie sat on his lap all night purring on Friday night and he's suddenly forgiven! He's my baby boy but causes so much worry sometimes. He's been getting lots of extra snuggles this weekend. (Arnie, not the hubby!) Fingers crossed for Vince and Arnie so their mums each have one less thing to worry about! xx

Good morning Squirrel, I am so pleased that Vince hasn't got anything nasty, had a chuckle at the thought of him picking the chicken out and leaving the rice. Who ever heard of a cat eating rice for goodness sake LOL.
