Morning all. A hosepipe ban in place and it's rained all night, lol. Seriously though, we are in one of the areas of the country in drought and we need soooooo much rain to put things even halfway right. Bring on the wet!
Mind you, it is lovely and sunny this morning, so far.
Today at LESS IS MORE the ladies have a Colour Challenge for us and it is Three Shades of Green. I'll be honest - since being forced to wear a bottle green school uniform for five years, I developed an allergy to green, but it is getting better as I'm getting older and I was determined not to let my teenage prejudice get in the way of me having a go at this!
I masked and sponged the background with Distress Inks in Forest Moss and Shabby Shutters, then I inked up some card in Peeled Paint and die cut the Cheery Lynn butterflies. Hero Arts sentiment is also stamped in Peeled Paint. Then I added mint green pearls to the bodies of the butterflies to give a bit more dimension and texture. Voila.
Hugs, Sxx

beautiful - really lovely xx
ReplyDeleteGlad you got over your allergy to greens! Fabulous card :)
ReplyDeleteIt's not easy using green... having to paint things the color of your old uniform... when you think it could be happier being pink or purple or blue or some less disgusting color than green...
ReplyDeleteOk, so Kermit the Frog is probably not happy I tweaked his lyrics.
Despite the awful trauma of using a color that turns your stomach, you did a lovely, simple card. So proud of you. Now if you could only overcome your distaste for orange jelly babies --or alternatively, learn to share-- life might be easier for you. But what would be the fun in that? ;)hee
What a fabulous card,love the butterflies.xxx

Another bottle green school uniform wearer here. I hated it, although Mum said it suited me much better than the pinks and blues that the other kids were wearing... sigh. But it didn't put me off - I LOVE green and always have. Your card is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteP.S. have you heard of Squinkies.com? My 8-year-old niece has about a million of them. Not sure you'll want to be associated with those!
