Less Is More # 13 - Thank You or Congratulations

Hi All.  Sorry that I've been MIA since last week - I've been really poorly and have only in the last twenty four hours crawled back to life.

I already had a cold at the start of the week so when I woke up Wednesday feeling a bit clammy, it just seemed part of the cold thing.  However, I lost my appetite as the day went on (unheard of) and by the time we got home from a day out I felt totally bushed.  Not any brighter on Thursday, and then the sickness started.  I know it is very rare for anyone to ever die from being sick but honest to God, there was a time in the early hours of Friday morning, sat on the loo with an old washing up bowl in my lap, that I thought I was going to meet my Good Lord Jesus there and then with my knickers round my ankles and my hair a sticky up fright from sweating so much.  Friday and Saturday were spent curled up in a whimpering heap in bed with Toad dashing around asking if I wanted him to take me to the out-of-hours clinic.

I'm still full of catarrah and coughing like I've been smoking 80 a day for 50 years and my legs feel like jelly but at least I'm out of bed.  Supposed to be back at work tomorrow!

It's totally ruined what had been a much needed holiday, but the upside is that I've lost 7-10lbs!  Mind you, I guess that can happen when you don't eat.  Anything.

My only attempt at crafting has been this quick little card for this week's LESS IS MORE challenge.  Optional themes of thank you or congratulations - I've gone for thank you.

I stamped the rose bud (Penny Black I think) onto a sheet of antique looking Basic Grey paper and then masked it with a Post-It Note, overstamped with the Hero Arts "thank you" definition, peeled off the mask and added colour to the rose with Prismacolors.  Deckled edged Nestie for the shape, which I aged the edges down with a golden brown pencil, Martha Stewart border punch and three toned pearls to finish.

Thanks for popping over.  I'll do my best to catch up once I'm feeling more squirrelly.

Hugs. Sxx

Don't rush back to work or you'll just knock yourself back ... and don't foget that EU law now means you can reclaim holidays if you fall sick during!! Take it easy and hope you're soon feeling a lot more bushy tailed.

  20. Well i prescribe the rest of the week off little squirrel. Oh you poor angel, sickness is just the worst. I think i can pretty much handle anything but sickness, especially if your bum decides to get in on the action too!. No wonder you have lost so much weight (in a females eyes this is the best thing about being sick!). You sound like you have gotten totally run down with stomach flu babes so you need to take care of yourself before you even think of heading back to work. Make sure the Toadster and young Vincent look after you, i will be checking up on them!. This is a fab card by the way hun and think it is totally cool what you have done with the stamp on background paper. Take care angel and we must have a good phonechat as soon as you are feeling better. Love you babes, Clarey xxx

  21. oh.. poor you. there's nothing worse than the old bucket on the lap whilst on the toilet.. and yeah.. it feels like it'll kill ya! I do hope you're still on the mend, love the simple card ♥

  22. Oh you poor thing! You know it's bad when you can't decide if you should kneel or sit! I'd say that you're going to be off work for a bit more. If you go back you'll only end up right back in the bed. You need to take a couple of days and get some of your strength back, not to mention get some shine back to your fur. Can't believe that you managed to create a card with all that going on. Here's hoping that Mr. Toad and Vincent are still taking good care of you (and hiding the car keys!)
    Hugs,

  23. Oh Squirrel so sorry to read how poorly you've been. Must admit i did enjoy your graphic story and can relate as most of us can at some stage.

    Please don't go back to work yet, it's too soon and your poor body needs to get some of it's energy back. Rest for a couple of days if you can.

    I am amazed that you have created something so special while feeling so awful. You deserve a huge hug and some best wishes sent via the cyber highway. Do take care:-)

  32. Poor little Squirrel! You must have had a bad nut. I know you're a frugal squirrel, but you've got to stop digging up last year's rotten old ones. {HUGS}

    I can't believe you've managed to make such a pretty card with your knickers round your ankles. I'd never have guessed the secret of your talent. ;-)
