I know things are quiet in blogland midweek but I thought I saw tumbleweed roll past yesterday - did you lot all get a better offer or was there something on that I didn't know about or was yesterday's card really that awful? Felt a bit like Billy-No-Mates last night (sob sob)!
Now, I know I need my eyes tested but I thought I had got quite good at "reading" rubber stamps. You know, when you pick up rubber and think "Oh yeah, I can see what that is" without the need to get ink on it. Yeah, right.
It actually wasn't until I had FINISHED painting this one that Stupid twigged that this was probably a Christmas stamp. D'oh!
Oh well, never mind - a quick and simple card but I think it works ok:
One of my five Hanglar stamps - he didn't come with a name (he's an ebay orphan) so I shall call him Reginald. Painted, in non-Christmas colours (!), with distress inks. Paper is Fine & Dandy and sentiment from a Buzzcraft collection.
Hope to see a few more of you over the weekend - and I've got a long one - weekend that is - finish work at lunchtime on Friday (whoop) and don't go back until Tuesday (wheeee) - only drawback to that is, the dearest one has Spring Cleaning planned. Well, not actually Spring Cleaning in the traditional sense but apparently I have to try and relocate something that used to be known as the dining room table. I have a picture in my mind of what it ought to look like ....... will let you know if I ever find it! There is an incentive on offer, so he tells me, that if I do track it down he will crack open the wallet and treat me to a Chinese takeaway on Saturday night - well who could turn that chance down - wish me luck - safari suit, waders and bamboo machete are on standby.......
Hugs, Squirrel xx

Very cute card, and who cares if it's christmas or not, maybe he's a valentine angel or an easter angel, I think he's very sweet and you have coloured him beautifully.

Oh Squirrel, there was nothing wrong with last nights card, life just gets a bit rushed at times. You know I for one generally leave coments on your lovely cards but if I blog hop from my iphone it takes me so long to coment that if I'm not blessed with time I leave it till on the laptop. Your Hangler dude looks mighty fine, and you could also clip his wings and make him more butch, though who said a Tooth fairy is definately a girly?
ReplyDeleteCatch you later,Julie.x
LOL!!!! You don't half make me laugh!!! Yep its a Christmas kit image!! fab card though .. and yesterdays card was fab ... only go to see it today .. been sooo busy.

ReplyDeletehi hun, loving this card.. hope that you manage to find your table.. xxx
ReplyDeletelooks fabulous, not christmassy at all
ReplyDeleteIf you cut off Regs' wings he wouldn't look so christmassy. (not that I think he does anyway)
ReplyDeleteLove the colours and the colouring.
I don't think Reginald nor his sentiment screams Christmas at all - and I love his adopted name too ;)
ReplyDeleteI've also got pictures in my mind of your Dinning Table - but mine also include the safari suit, machete and a lion or 2 (Penny Black of course!)

I dont think it looks like a christmas stamp, it makes a fantastic clean and simple card...the net has been very quiet lately it has nothing to do with your stunning work
ReplyDeleteMina xxx
Until you said 'Christmas', I was thinking "fairy in his winter clothes" sending warm winter wishes. I mean, not all fairies can fly south (or north, on your hemisphere, I guess ha) for the winter! LOL Love stopping by every day for a squirrel-y moment. =)
ReplyDeleteI don't see why Reginald has to be a Christmas stamp. I hate to think of where you'll be hunting this dinning room table, if you need waders, machete and safari suit!! Hope you find it though and get the Chinese dinner! Thanks for the smiles,
